Yesterday, I went to an antique jewelry shop. I found this cross and absolutely fell in love with it. The main cross is silver, and the flower and front piece detailing are gold.
The chain I’m wearing it on is my mother’s. She suggested that it would look nice, which it does, so I will be sneaking this out of her jewelry box quite a lot ;)
Today’s Necklaces
- My favorite of my two rosaries that I acquired from my Great Uncle. This is from the Vatican and was blessed by Pope John Paul II; my Great Uncle’s father was a friend of his. Although I am atheist, I think this is far too beautiful to be locked away in a drawer. It’s one of my favorite pieces of jewelry.
- My Whitby Jet necklace that I inherited from my Grandmother. This is my favorite pendant, and I usually wear it on a short silver chain, although occasionally I put it on a small loop earring to wear it as an earring.
- My Paaps bought me this Cameo necklace/brooch for my 15th Birthday last summer from Venice. I’ve always loved Victorian Cameo jewelry; this is a modern, lazer-cut glass piece, hence the super-fine details. I picked this one because the girl is inadvertently doing Metal-horns.
